The Buyer's Guide To Women's Underwear
Shopping for women's underwear, like most shopping, can be lots of fun. There are so many options to choose from these days in terms of colors, cuts, materials, but there are a few important things you should consider before pulling the trigger. Here are the 4 Cs of women's underwear so you can make an informed decision before heading to the store or adding to cart.
Care instructions
Women's underwear should absolutely be machine washable, because who has time (or patience) for hand-washing or line-drying underwear? Underwear which, mind you, is worn every single day and often through messy times where you might not want to have your hands all over them.
Cotton underwear is usually machine washable and drier-friendly, but lace underwear is a different story. Not all lace underwear is cut from the same cloth, literally. When you're buying lace underwear, make sure you check the label and see if you can throw thoem in the machine. And, if you can, you might want to put them in a mesh laundry bag to protect the lace and prevent it from getting stuck on something in the wash.
Check the size chart
If you're shopping for women's underwear online, then getting the right size can be tricky. Every manufacturer has their own sizing guide - sometimes you might find number sizes, or letter sizes, or the ever-confusing combination of two sizes. If you're normally a size medium, how do you know whether to pick between the S/M or the M/L?
Long story short, you won't be able to decipher what size you are without a size chart. And, when in doubt, it's always best to go up a size so you don't get stuck with underwear that's too tight or doesn't provide enough coverage. When shopping online, it's also important to buy from a store with a free return policy so you won't be stuck with underwear that doesn't fit.
Cut and coverage
You're probably familiar with the ubiquitous brief and thong (no thank you!). But have you ever wondered what the difference is between a boyshort and a hipster? Or how about a bikini versus brief?
More to come on different types of underwear but, if you're looking for comfort, then full coverage briefs are the way to go. And if you don't want muffin top (who does?), you'll definitely want high-waist panties.
Circumstance
And by this we mean, where will you be wearing this underwear and under what circumstances? Do you need underwear for working out, lounging on the couch or a sexy date night? Respectively you'll want breathable, comfortable lace underwear for these situations.
That being said, wouldn't it be great if you could get one pair of underwear for any occasion? The good news is, you're in the right place! Our lace underwear is not only comfortable, it's breathable and best of all, it's also machine washable.
