How to Measure Panties Without Getting Them in a Bunch

women's size chart panties

As we all know, finding just the right size for any article of clothing can be a challenge. From dresses to swimsuits to jeans, we know that it can often feel like a chore to determine our most figure-flattering fit – especially as our bodies continue to change throughout the years. But while most of us focus our attention on our outerwear, it’s our undergarments that we should really be paying attention to. After all, nothing can ruin your ensemble faster than an ill-fitted pair of panties. Whether they’re too tight, baggy in the bottom, bulge at the belly, or show off visible lines, improper knickers aren’t just unsightly but also uncomfortable.

That’s why it’s important to not just select panties that are comfortable and supportive, with no visible panty lines like our line of lace underwear, but to also ensure that you are getting the proper fit.

But how do you know exactly what your size is when you're shopping on the internet? After all, fit varies from person to person. And just like jeans vary from brand to brand, so do panties. A good place to start is to look at your own size labels. For example, if you are a size 27 in jeans, this often equates to a size 4. In Bloomers, this would typically mean you are a size Small. As a reference, here is our size chart:

Still not quite sure which size to select? The only true way to know your perfect fit is to measure yourself. I know, this can be a daunting task for sure but, believe me, it’s worth it! Knowing your true size can help you cut down on returning your purchases which, as we all know, can be a huge pain in the rear.

Tools You Will Need:

  • A Cloth Measuring Tape – If you don't own one and have a ruler or a household metal tape measure instead, get creative. Use a string, ribbon, or belt that's large enough to measure around your waist and hips, and then use the ruler to calculate your measurement as precisely as possible.
  • Long Dressing Mirror
  • Chalk Or Pencil

Tips For Accurate Measurements:

  • For the most accurate results, measure yourself without your undergarments.
  • Wrap measuring tape around the fullest part of your hips, snug, but not tight – this is your hip measurement.

Measure Up!

If you fall between sizes, consider the next largest size. Panties should lay smooth against the skin, never digging or pinching. You may want to measure a few times to ensure that the number is the same each time.

Next, take your hip measurement and cross-reference it with the brand’s size chart. We provide a detailed size chart for easy ordering and we also have a fit guide to help answer any questions you may have about our sizing. This takes the guess work out of shopping and makes for a much easier and enjoyable experience.

Select Your Style

Once you've figured out your correct size, you'll want to make sure you have the right underwear style for your body. In terms of style and comfort, we have you covered with Her Highness Lace Briefs and our newest styles - Knickerboxers Lace Boyshorts and Pantyloon Slip Shorts. Yes, they are sexy, but they are also functional with a high-waisted design that smooths and accentuates your curves. Even better, the scalloped edges disappear under clothes to create a flawless look all around. Plus, the full rear coverage doesn’t ride up, helping you feel and look your best.

So, whether you’re giving your lingerie drawer an overhaul or simply looking to add to your collection, there are two simple rules to follow when picking out your new panties. Focus on size and style. After all, it really is what’s underneath that counts, right?
